snoctober... yes, Aubrey I stole that from you. :)

So we woke up to snow! And on our walk to class we had fun tossing it at each other and finding patches to step in...

Then as we were sitting in class listening to Miriam and Erik talk about relationships, it snowed the whole time.

So on break... a mega snow war broke out.

Some of the girls staying warm inside on the dance floor.

On the way home snow collected in Wendi's hair. :D

It snowed all day! I ended up running around in it for a video by my friend Cher.

When I went to bed we had about 5 inches.

Trip to another Fjord.

I went to the Grinedafjord, a famous on in Norway!
Look it up! It is fantastic!
These are my traveling companions! Andrew, Alida, Silvia, and Magda.
I couldn't put all my pictures but you get the picture! :)

It was about a 2 hour drive from the base and it was sooooo wonderful! The beauty was every where, I love the land, the charming old farms and houses, and IT SNOWED on us.

God is so creative.

It didn't rain!!!!!

Sportin' Alaska headband!

Lovely! And there are two houses built randomly on the sides of the fjord!
I have no idea how they get there! crazy Norwegians!

Video

Here is our first video as a film track. We were just practicing for about an hour and this is the product. It was really fun!
Because I used a song that I do not own I needed to put a password on it...
password: sadie

I hope you like it. My next assignment is a prophetic video for someone else. Each of us are given a number of a different student and then we pray and ask God for inspiration. Then we use our art form to make something symbolic. It is a great way to encourage each other.

So this little film should put a smile on your face!

I like to step on crunchy leaves.

Some shots of the day! We went and practiced shooting a short film at a look out park above down town Alesund. It was fun, confusing, stressful, artistic, beautiful, and chilly. We didn't have much time to complete our idea but it was good to work with the camera (angles, f-stop, focusing, panning, and all these useful things that one must be good at). Tomorrow we will edit to make a little video where we will examine all the things we did wrong. Then all the tracks will gather in the afternoon and show eachother the fun things we got to do! Then creative week will be over and instead of learning about film (except on Friday) I will be learning more about God.

First Creative Week

Creative Week means for the whole week we focus on our track, so far I have learned how to use our film HDV camera and the canon 7D (this camera is so impressive). We also learned a bunch techy stuff about angles and all the rules of film. I now more fully appreciate the first three minutes of feature films.
So yesterday we learned and practiced a bunch of recording angles and using a dolly.

This is a picture of the video we made. It is super cheesy cute video that we all worked on together. It isn't first rate quality but everybody likes it. This is one of my track leaders, Leif-Kristian, our faithful actor. You will be recieving a link sometime this week when we edit a bit more.

This is just practicing the dolly and the red and blue you see are some sculpture people helping us with depth of field.

NOTE: If you are a boy please ignor the next two sentances.

Ummm... I got a hair cut. :) Not that you really can tell, but it lightened my hair so it got much more wavey.

Introducing Jenette.
This is the lovely little girl of a staff family that I get to babysit almost every Wednesday.
She is a bilingual 2 year old, that likes to play with dirt and rocks, sing and dance, laughs
easy, and likes to step on crunchy leaves. Match made in heaven.
